Hoberg and Greaves Earn MCC All-Conference Honors; Greaves MCC Newcomer of the Year
2/29/08 -  The Midwest Collegiate Conference announced it men’s basketball all-conference honors. Twenty athletes were recognized as part of the all-conference teams as voted by the coaches; ten to the First Team and ten to the Honorable Mention Team.

Grand View senior guard Pat Hoberg (Urbandale, Ia.) was selected to the MCC First Team. Hoberg averaged over 34 minutes in MCC contests and was among leaders in several MCC categories this season: scoring (3rd – 17.4 ppg), rebounding (14th – 5-3 rpg), free throw percentage (5th – 83.1%), steals (12th – 1.31 spg), three-point field goal percentage (7th – 38.8%), and three-point goals made (2.81 gpg).

Hoberg was named the MCC Player of the Week for the week on February 26th.

Junior guard/forward Rohan Greaves (Melbourne, Australia) earned Honorable Metion honors and was named the MCC Newcomer of the Year. Greaves transferred to Grand View from Ellsworth Community College. He led the MCC in three-point field goal percentage this season (51.8%) and was among leaders in three-point field goals made per game (2nd – 3.14), rebounding (6th – 6.9 rpg), field goal percentage (10th – 48.2%), and scoring (12.7 ppg).

Grand View finished the 2007-08 season 13-18 overall and 8-8 in the MCC. The Vikings advanced to the semifinal round of the MCC Tournament and won 9 of their final 13 games. Complete MCC All-Conference Release

Hoberg Named MCC Player of the Week
2/26/08 - Viking senior guard Pat Hoberg has been selected as the Midwest Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for men's basketball announced today. Last week, the Vikings were 2-0 in MCC play behind Hoberg who averaged 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. Hoberg shot 53.3% from the field (16-30), 46.7% from the three-point line (7-15), and 84.6% from the free throw line (11-13). He scored a career-high 32 points against Ashford.
